Bonfire Night - Pair your beers with your grub!

So, the fires roaring, the Roman Candles are firing and you've got a hunger and a thirst on like it's nobody's business! Well, we've paired up beers from our Bonfire Multibuy lineup with some absolute staples of Guy Fawke's night.

Burger & Sausage time

Lowenbrau Lager: Pair with smoked bratwurst or kielbasa served with sauerkraut and hot mustard. The Lager's crispness complements the smoky sausages and tangy sauerkraut. If you're just going with standard hotdogs you're still in the right ballpark - lowenbrau cuts through the fattiness of the sausage like a knife through butter!

Becks Gold Lager: Pair with a juicy burger, topped with smoked Gouda cheese, and fried sticky cider onions. The Lager's mild flavour complements the smokiness of the cheese and nuts – if you have any orchard pig in, throw this in the onion pan.

Goose Island IPA: Pair with a smoky beef burger, slow-roasted and served with coleslaw. The IPA's hoppy and citrusy notes balance the smoky richness of the meat.

Get your Spud on

It wouldn’t be bonfire night without a spud or two, wrapped in foil & tossed into the hot ashes of the bonfire!

Camden Pale Ale: Enjoy your baked spud topped with a hot and hearty chili, loaded with smoked beef, beans, and cheese. The boat load of American hoppy notes balances the richness of the chili.

Tennent's Lager: Load up your spud with smoked haddock and cheddar – the ultimate ‘level up’ from your classic tuna spud! Tennent’s crisp freshness cuts through the hearty flavours of the smoked fish beautifully.

Tripel Karmeliet Belgian: Serve your spud with a side of smoked sausage, buttery cabbage, and crispy bacon. The beer's complexity of bold and spicy flavours, enhance the smoky saltiness to a T.

Soup-alicious

Hertog Jan Pilsner: Serve with a roasted butternut squash soup with a touch of smoked paprika. This full-bodied brew with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste, enhances the soup's warmth and depth. A hearty pint to pair with a heart bowl!

Leffe Blonde: As the brewery will tell you, nothing pairs more perfectly with red meat than Leffe. Although more stew than soup, trust us, a beef hotpot’s the way to go with this one. It’s the perfect aperitif for this deliciously hearty and red wine-based grub.

Franziskaner Kellerbier Lager: Pair with a smoky ham and bean. The Lager's malty sweetness complements the rich & flavours, whilst cutting through nicely with it’s sweeter finish.

Sweet Treats

Just fill your boots, grab some parkin or a couple of toffee apples and make sure you've got something lovely and crisp to cut through the sweetness. It will refresh you, and make sure you're ready for another bite... or ten!
